Citizens Announces Organizational Change in Supply Chain

INDIANAPOLIS- Mary Owen has been promoted to Director of Supply Chain. Owen began her career at Citizens Energy Group as a part-time customer service representative while in college, and following graduation held positions of increasing responsibility in the dispatch, marketing and purchasing departments.

“I am always pleased to promote an employee who has worked hard at Citizens since their career began,” said Jeffrey Harrison, President and CEO of Citizens Energy Group. “Mary is a prime example of an employee whose work ethic and leadership skills are a direct reflection of her dedication to our customers.”

In 1997, Owen left the position of Director of Purchasing and Stores at Citizens and joined a subsidiary company, CIGMA, which was jointly owned by Citizens Gas and Indiana Gas, now Vectren.  Owen served as CIGMA’s Vice President of Procurement Services until it was purchased in 2003 by rival distributor McJunkin Corporation, now MRC Global.   Owen served as branch manager for McJunkin’s Indianapolis branch location for 8 years serving utilities, pipeline companies, contractors, fabricators, and pharmaceutical companies. She returned to Citizens in August 2011 as a Category Manager in Supply Chain.

Owen holds a B.S. in Psychology and A.A.S. in Industrial Engineering Technology from Purdue University at Indianapolis and enjoys being a United Way ReadUP tutor at IPS School 48.
