Jennett Hill Elected Into American Law Institute (ALI)

4/22/2015

INDIANAPOLIS- Citizens Energy Group proudly recognizes Jennett Hill, Senior Vice President and General Counsel today on her election into The American Law Institute (ALI). ALI is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. ALI’s elected members consist of renowned judges, lawyers, and law professors from all areas of the United States and from many foreign countries. Recipients of this honor have demonstrated professional achievement and an interest in improving the law. This year, only four individuals from Indiana were elected into ALI.

“I am humbled and honored by my election into The American Law Institute,” said Hill, “The professional achievements and significant legal contributions of both past and present ALI members are extraordinary. I look forward to working alongside distinguished judges, lawyers, and legal scholars. Being an ALI member also affords me an opportunity to give back to the legal profession in a unique and meaningful way.”

Hill joined Citizens in 2013, having previously been a partner with the law firm of Faegre Baker Daniels where she focused her practice on nonprofit law, representing organizations exempt from the payment of federal and state income taxes. Hill also worked for IBM, serving in various roles within its midwestern operation.
Hill has a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and a law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She serves on various community boards including the Indiana Energy Association (IEA), the Indiana Legal Foundation, Eskenazi Health Center, the Center for Leadership Development and the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership. Hill was also the recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2014 Women of Influence award.

“When Jennett joined the Citizens family in 2013, the trust was still in a transitional period due to the recent water and wastewater acquisition,” said Carey Lykins, President and CEO of Citizens. “Jennett worked quickly to learn the business and took on a leadership role. I am confident her strong work ethic combined with her acute knowledge of the legal arena will be a valuable asset to the ALI.”
