East Bank Storage Tank Tour

Citizens Energy Group provided a tour of the control and power building, as well as the moving screen gates for the East Bank Storage Tank to approximately 30 students from an IUPUI electrical engineering seminar class.

Paul Struck provided the students with valuable information about the variable frequency drive (VFD) controlling the dewatering pumps and how the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) network tracks key facility data. The students will learn about those topics later in their curriculum.

Citizens also operated the screen gate to provide a visualization of how electrical programs work in conjunction with human interfaces and hydraulic mechanisms.
