Daniel Appel

Daniel C. Appel, Board Chair 

President, Gregory & Appel Insurance

Dan Appel is the fourth-generation member of his family associated with the Indianapolis insurance agency of Gregory & Appel. He oversees some of the agency’s largest accounts, drawing on his extensive understanding of insurance and risk management. Dan is widely respected for his considerable community involvement with organizations such as Noble of Indiana and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. A Certified Insurance Counselor, Dan holds an Indiana Agents License. He earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University.

Moira Carlstedt

Moira Carlstedt, Board Secretary

President, Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership

Moira Carlstedt has served as President of INHP since 1998. Before joining INHP, Carlstedt spent two years as the Director of the Department of Metropolitan Development for the City of Indianapolis. Prior to that, she worked for 10 years in the real estate industry and for four years in the banking industry. Carlstedt has a bachelor's degree from Bradley University. Carlstedt is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, Meadows Community Foundation, Capital Projects Committee – United Way, and St. Vincent Hospital.

Jeffrey Good

Managing Director for mAccounting

As a leader of mAccounting, Good has helped expand the company from 4 to 34 employees. The organization provides outsourced and strategic financial consulting to  entrepreneurial companies and non-profits seeking to grow their organizations. Prior to joining mAccounting, Good held a variety of business management positions including being an auditor for EY LLP, and Executive Vice President and CFO with USA Group, Inc. A 1984 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Good is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and a board member for the Indiana Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. Good also has served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre.

Anita J. Harden

Anita J. Harden

Retired President, Community Hospital East

Anita Harden has attained many awards and honors including the “Sagamore of the Wabash” for her work as a loaned executive to Governor Evan Bayh's office and she was inducted into the Indianapolis Public Schools Alumni Hall of Fame. Anita serves on the Board of the Christian Theological Seminary. She is a past president of the Marion County Mental Health Association. She is also on the boards of Choices, Inc., and Indianapolis Zoological Society. Harden is a member of Rotary International. She generously volunteers her time with medical mission work, where she has served in Haiti, Cuba and Vietnam. A registered nursing graduate of Indiana University, she also received a master's in nursing and an MBA from IU. Prior to joining Community Health Network, Anita taught at the IU School of Nursing.

Vice President of Human Resources at Eskenazi Health

Christia Hicks serves as Eskenazi Health's vice president of Human Resources. Christia assumes administrative responsibility over several departments within Eskenazi Health. She was formerly a health facility administrator for Eskenazi Health and director of specialty clinics. Originally from Rockford, Ill., Christia earned a Master of Physical Therapy from Drexel University, Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and holds a degree in biology from Augustana College.  Christia serves on the United Way Community Impact Committee and IU School of Nursing Board of Advisors.

President and CEO of LDI, Ltd.

J.A. Lacy serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of LDI, Ltd. a century old holding company invested in global logistics, distribution and manufacturing businesses. A native of Indianapolis, Lacy volunteers at various local charities and currently serves as a director at Central Indiana Community Foundation and Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. Lacy earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Anne Nobles


Anne Nobles, Board Vice Chair

Retired Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Eli Lilly and Co.

Anne Nobles retired from Eli Lilly and Company in December 2012 as the Senior VP, Enterprise Risk Management and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Under Anne's leadership, the company entered into and complied with a corporate integrity agreement with the Office of Inspector General of Health and Human Services, strengthened the global privacy program and substantially enhanced its anti-corruption program. She chaired the company's compliance committee and served on the company's executive committee, while working closely with Lilly's board of directors on compliance and enterprise risk management issues. 

Currently, Anne is the chairman of the Board of Directors of IU Health and a trustee of The Nature Conservancy of Indiana. She has served on a number of not-for-profit boards, including The National Urban League, Riley Children's Foundation, Women's Fund of Central Indiana, Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, Women's Leadership Board of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and the advisory board of the Salvation Army of Indiana.

Phillip Terry has been CEO of Monarch Beverage Company, EF Transit, Inc., and Vision Concepts, LLC since 1991. Prior to joining Monarch, Terry was a partner at McHale, Cook & Welch, P.C. Terry has a bachelor of arts degree and a doctor of law degree from Indiana University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Wheaton World Wide Moving, Inc., the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

Joseph Whitsett

Member at The Whitsett Group, LLC

Joseph Whitsett is the founder of The Whitsett Group, LLC, a full-service real estate development company in Indianapolis. Prior to forming The Whitsett Group, Whitsett worked as a partner at Ice Miller in its tax group. Whitsett is recognized as a champion of the affordable housing movement in Indianapolis and has been instrumental in creating housing options for senior citizens on a fixed income. He has advised numerous not for profits throughout the city on providing affordable housing in their communities to meet local needs. Whitsett was a co-chair of the Super Bowl 2012 Legacy Housing Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for both the John H. Boner Community Center, Inc., The Canopy, Inc., Community Action of Greater Indianapolis, Inc., and the Herron High School.
